Umoe Bioenergy SA (“Umoe”) is a company operating in the Brazilian sugar-energy sector and is part of a Norwegian Business Group, the Umoe Group.
The Umoe Group was founded in 1984 by the Norwegian Jens Ulltveit-Moe, which operates in the Renewable Energy, Services and Real Estate sectors. Currently, the Umoe Group's businesses are present in the following countries: Norway, Sweden, Denmark, China, the United States and Brazil.
And it is in Brazil that the Umoe Group explores the renewable energy sector through Umoe Bioenergy SA.
Umoe strongly believes in individual responsibility and, consequently, works with a lean, agile and responsive corporate profile, because Umoe considers that an aggressive organization is more likely to make mistakes.
Umoe does not tolerate poor performance resulting from decisions based on emotions (as opposed to facts).
Umoe seeks to share the profits with those who created them and seeks to reward performance well, and although Umoe is a privately held company, it believes that the discipline of a high quality board is essential for effective management.

He is the founder of the Umoe Group. Upon completing his training, he was a consultant for McKinsey in New York and London, before developing the SHV group's oil tanker division in the Netherlands. He led the turnaround of the Knut Knutsen OAS shipping company from 1980. In 1984, he established Umoe AS, and has since expanded the group to create one of Norway's largest private companies. He plays an active role in Norwegian society and is a past president of the Norwegian Shipowners Association and the Confederation of Norwegian Enterprises. He is elected Chairman of the Board of Cicero and serves as a member of the Board of Directors of Environmental Defense Fund Ltd. Europe.
He holds a master's degree in Business Administration and Economics from the Norwegian School of Economics and Business Administration (NHH) and a master's degree in International Affairs from the University of Colombia.
Is currently the CEO of Umoe Gruppen AS, Board of Directors Member of Umoe Bioenergy S.A. and Board of Directors Chairman of Umoe Restaurants Group, Nomination Committee e Corporate Assembly Equinor. He is, also, a Board of Directors Member of Basecamp Explorer Spitsbergen.
Prior to join Umoe, he was the CEO of Arendals Fossekompani ASA and, before that, the CEO of Export Credit Norway and, also been, the CEO of Unitor ASA.
He has previously Board of Directors Member of Norske Skog ASA, Enova SF, Glamox AS, Powel AS and EFD Induction AS. And, he was also, a Board Member of Kongsberg Gruppen ASA, Ekornes ASA, Multiconsult AS, Kverneland ASA, Awilco Offshore ASA, Grieg Shipping AS and Aibel AS.
Mr. Roth holds a graduate degree from the Norwegian School of Economics & Business Administration.
He is a Nowergian citizen and was the CEO of Umoe Bioenergy S.A. until July 2022, when assumed the position of Board of Members Chairman of Umoe Bioenergy S.A.
Prior to Umoe, he has held various international leadership positions on Industry and Consultant areas, including the position of CEO of Yara Brasil Fertilizantes. He was, also, a partner of Norway PWC (PricewaterhouseCoopers).
He holds a Master Industrial Engineer Degree from the Nowergian of Science and Technology and has concluded a Master Business Administration from IMD at Switzerland.
He is the CEO of Umoe Bioenergy S.A, since July 2022.
He joined Umoe in 2011 and has held various management positions in the company's administrative department. He has huge experience in the sugarcane market, companies restructuring, negotiation and asset management.
He is a Lawyer and Accountant. He, also, holds a Master Business Administration Degree from UNC/FGV/RSM/Xiamem University.
Prior this position, he held the position of Agricultural Planning and Costs Director of ACP Bioenergia (one of the biggest suppliers of sugarcane in Brazil).
He has a Administration Degree and a Master Business Administration of Human Resources, Corporate and Controller Management from Faculdade Integrada Urubupungá (FIU).
Mr. Elastico has more than 24 years of experience in the sugarcane market and has held various positions on this sector.
